VINTAGE FABRIC

With regard to vintage fabric, please note that I try to accurately describe any spots or blemishes etc which I might find on the fabric - but I am only human and I might miss something.  By their very age and design these are Vintage and as such should not bought with the expectation of 'perfect' material.

Unless grossly misrepresented, I will not refund vintage fabrics.

CARE OF VINTAGE LINENS

Over the years countless vintage linens have come through my home.  My general rule is that if it has bright colours, either wash in cold water or dry clean.  I decide between them depending on the fabric content and estimated country of origin, this is due to the fact that many items are coloured with vegetable dyes and as such are not colour-safe.

Wash most items in cold water in a front-load washing machine or even better wash by hand, so as not to cause any undue strain on the fabric.

If the item is less than bright,  use a non-biological soak for at least two days and that takes out an awful lot of things, almost everything.  If the first couple of days of soaking does not achieve the desired effect, start afresh with a new batch and the second go round should work.

For identifiable individual spots, commercially bought stain removers are little miracle workers (especially the rust remover version).

Always line dry - away from direct sunlight if possible to avoid any risk of fading (never tumble dry), if not possible on an airer in front of a Rayburn or radiator should suffice.
